Kiwi Can

Today For Kiwi Can we had a new Topic or theme It is conflict resolution. Then we played a game called 21. To play 21, you have to get an ball and use it as an bomb, If the person gets the ball on 21 then they would be out.The next game we played Guess the emotion in this game  we had to get into 4 lines at first the first person in the line can't look and Mr matt wrote on the board what the people sitting down had to act it out and if the person standing up gets it you get a point.

Filling folders

L.I to clean our drives.
Today we did our cybersmart which was to file our folders on our drive, We had to trash the stuff that was from last year and reorganise our current stuff. We had to work in partners my partner was Alisha and he went first because he had to go to kiwican. We had to file this so the Drawing, Documents and slides were easy to find, If we did not file it we might have to restart.

LI: to self monitor our understanding of a text.
Today for reading I red a article about Amelia Earhart. We had to writ about the words we did not understand and use our fix up strategy. The first word I did not understand was anthropologist the stratagey I used was find out what the word means and I looked on some site and now I know what it means, It means the studdies that make us human.

Duffy Asembely

L.I To read to get better at read to achieve something in the future.

Today we went to Duffy assembly to meet a few guest that were going to tell us about them selves. First we stood up when they arrived and we sat done and sang the Duffy song. Then Matt and Tayla talked about them selves,Matt is a rugby player. He plays for the blues (Melbourne storms). Tayla used to be a BMX rider, but now Tayla is an accountant, commentator and interviewer. Tayla was a national BMX rider, her highest was second. She played some other sports like touch, softball and basketball. Tayla is a interviewer/commentator.Tayla plans to be a lawyer but she is an accountant right now. She doesn't always want to be a lawyer though, she also want to be a sports person.

Cybersmart


L.I is t make a copy of this slide and do what is on it.
Today I did Cyber smart I had to make a copy of a slide and I had to do some shortcuts. Some of them were just skills aswell. There were 7 differents shortcuts/skills. The pairs and groups had to help each other since some people don't know and haven't used the short cuts and skill before. The 7 different things we practised were  Ctrl  x and Ctrl  v, Ctrl  c and Ctrl  v, Ctrl  Shift  v, Ctrl a, Ctrl  z and Ctrl  y and Ctrl + k.

Cricket

Today  the Yr 5 and 6 and the Yr 7 an 8's went on a bus to go to a big field to play cricket Yr 6  first game to go against Pt England black We went Batting first and lost our second game was against Tamaki primary and we won, Then we were against panama road and we won our second to last game was against Point England red and we had a tie and our last game was against Stonfields and we lost, they were really good bowlers ad they got so many four's which means the batter hits the ball and it goes past the cones or the boundary.

L.I to learn how to hit from a pitch.
Today for kiwi sport we had Ash again. We played scatter ball but Ash threw the balls to us and we had to bat it. If we kept missing the ball Ash will let us bat from the T. We split up into fielders and batters. I was a batter, I remembered the skills that you need to do while batting. So your feet has to be shoulder width apart, and your small knuckles has to be aligned, the bat on your shoulder, and also elbows up. Then when everyone had a turn batting we swap. When we bat and we run around the bases if you don't make it you stay at the base you are on then you wait for the other person to come so you can run and if you still don't make it your out.


Figurative language

LI: to identify and use different forms of figurative language.
This week for writing Mr wongs writing groups had to colour code the words or sentences depending on if they were a Simile, Metaphor, Personification, Idiom and alliteration. Metaphor is comparing something by using it is, idiom is saying something but no literal, a simile is comparing something using like or as, personification is giving human or animal abilities to an object and alliteration are words the start with the same letter.

Self monitoring


LI: to monitor our understanding of a text by ourselves.
This weeks reading session was about Self monitoring. This week we were reading water worries.We had to discuss over with our neighbor next to us sitting on the mat what self-monitoring means. Then we had to watch a video that gives a full explanation of what self-monitoring is. Then we had to self-monitor ourselves with a book that we read.

Team motto


L.I to make a motto for our team.
This week for inquiry we had to make a motto we watched a video so we knew what a motto is. Panmure bridge school motto is to Strive to Achieve it means that we as a school can make great efforts, succeeded in things and we can try and also participate. When writing the brand motto's, we had to include why they have it and how it represents them as a brand.

Place value


L.I to learn to subtract using place value.
Today I learnt to subtract using place value. I learnt this by watching a video then getting practice using a google slide to show it on. We also learned the 1 for ten and ten for 1. This is showing us more about the Place value house. I learnt hot to subtract problems using the place value house. I had fun doing this and it has 27 slides.

Kiwi sport











LI : To learn softball skills.


we did kiwi sport,it was fun but we also had to learn how to run the bases. We were learning how to get someone out in softball. We also learnt how to pitch bat and field. For the first activity we played scatter ball. First we got split up into 2 groups. My team was the fielders and the other team was the batters. Then we swapped sides, the batters became fielders and the fielders became batters. The fielders had to try and catch the ball with their softball glove. If the fielders catched the ball on the foul the person who hit the ball would be out.

Minute to win it flag


L.I is to make a logo or a flag that represents the people in a team.
This week Me, Xavier, Sandra, Lukah And Giovanni made a flag for our LS1 minute to win it Olympics.  We had this as our Logo. L.K.G.X.S for our inisheals. but our group name is The wolf pack. Xavier Put the Attribution and Sandra, Lukah and Karlos chose a image, but Xavier got the image.


Art Recount


LI: to accurately use a range of simple, compound, and complex sentences.
This week for writing I made a recount about The art work that we did last week. In our recount we had to use tree,T for tittle, R for reveal, E for events and the last E is for ending which is the personal reflection. We had one minute to think, three minutes to talk with our partner and seven minutes to write our reveal. When we finished the reveal we came back to the mat and talked to our partner what we wanted to write in the first event.when we finished that I done my second and third event and then I finished my personal reflection.

Kiwi Can











L.I How to use leadership.
This week for Kiwi Can Ls1 group B went to Kiwi Can after morning are still learning about leadership, Our catchphrase is leaders are fear leaders are fun leaders include everyone. First we played our energizer the name of this game was called rock paper scissors in this game we had to find a partner my partner was Giovanni and we had to play rock paper scissors and who ever lost had to go to the back of our partner and hold their shoulder. Then we got into four lines and we talked about what leader ship is and what makes a good leader. after that we played our second game it was called charades and in this game we had to get into three groups and one person in each group and the Kiwi Can leaders whispered in our ear what we had to act out. Then the Kiwi Can leaders gave us our class points and we got twenty-three, the thing we needed to work on is respect. And after that we got back into our four lines and each line and we answered two questions in each line.

Subtraction

This week for math's I rounded numbers to solve subtraction or addition problems I chose subtraction  because it was easier. Our must do is to make a DLO on a slide or a google drawing I chose a google slide. This equations 783 - 395 and 1123 - 846. It took me a while to solve.

Then we had to write three other predictions and write if it was incorrect or correct.

Kiwisport

L.I to learn to pitch.
This week for Kiwisport LS1 group B went first and we learnt how to pitch. First we played a warm up game it was called scatterball so what we did was line up in a boy and a girl line and we had to get into 2 even lines, Then we had to get into a boy girl boy girl line then the first perosn in the line runs and touched the bases with your feet and you have to run around and touch the base with your line behind it and then once you touch that base you get to the back of the line. Then we learnt to pitch a softball so what you do is start by doing the L with the hand with the ball in it then go into a K then put your foot thats up down then flick the ball when it goes to your hips.

This week for inquiry Me Giovanni and Xavier. We had to write information about Andy Warhol and find some images. I really want to know how andy warhol was in men in black 3 when he passed away way before men in black 3 was relesed. Xavier and Giovanni both got a image and we all wrote a piece of information.

KiwiCan















Today LS1 group B went to kiwi can we have a new topic it is leadership, we also have a new catchphrase I think it was leaders are good, leaders are fun and leaders include everyone. We played our first game and it was called hammer in this game we had to get a partner my partner was Giovanni I put my hand on top and then he put his hand under mine then I put my other hand under had and the did the same, when Mrs lily said if she says up the persons hand that is on the bottom puts his hand to the top and if she says down the hand on the top goes to the bottom and if she says hammer the hand on the top has to hit the other persons hand before that person moves his hand. In our second game we had to use leadership the name of this game was called copy me in this game we had to get into four even lines and we had to face to the whiteboard while the kiwi can leaders do the moves and they told the first person had to do the moves and remember it then they had to tap the other persons shoulder and do the move so the person can remember and tap the other persons shoulder and do that until the end of the line.

Kiwican

Learning Intention:

This week for kiwi can we played a couple of games but we first had to sit on the mat and listen to what the teacher says the first game we played was tiger low in this game or kiwi can teachers called out a animal and we had to make the action and make the noise. The Next game we played I had no did not know what the name of the game but in this game there was two taggers and when the kiwi can teacher claps we had to jump as far as we could.

Kiwi sport, (softball)

L.I: We learnt how to bat a softball.

On Thursday group b Went out on the field to practice bating a softball with Ashley or Ash. to hold the bat you have to hold the bat with you're little knuckles a lined, but you have to put you're hands at the bottom of the handle, put you're strongest hand on top of the other hand, if you're right hand is the strongest the bat onto the right shoulder and if you're left hand is the strongest the bat onto the left shoulder and then swing the softball, next week we are learning to pitch.

Little boat

This week for writing I made a story about the little boat.
Today for writing we had to write a recount about the video the little boat. Mr Wong made a google doc to write our recounts in a text. I talked about the bad weather I went past and monkeys jumping on me and wrestling. We used TREE to write the recount. T means the tittle, R means the reveal, E means events and the last E is for the ending.

3 ways to solve a addition problems


LI: to learn quick ways to add.
This week for maths I learnt 3 ways to add different equations. My example was 34 + 57. My examples were with a number line, normal addition and using 2 lines for the equals sign. I picked addition because it was easy. The first thing I did was think of 2 numbers.

LI: to monitor understanding of a text by using Question Answer Relationship (QAR).
This week for reading I made a google drawing on my google drawing I put the 4 question types they are called Right there, Think and search, Author and me and On my own. The story that I red was niuean sports day and I had to write 1 question for write there, think and search, Author and me and on my own. I learnt by reading the story and going on the site and reading what we had to do.

L.I to write about the Olympics and PBS.
This week for inquiry we had to compare the things about the olympics and panmure bridge school. The only images me and my partner Leroy used were for the PBS logo and the olympic flag. We had to make a copy of this google drawing and then share it to our partner we had to write about the PBS and the olympics in the olmpics was Olympic motto, Olympic creed, Olympic flag and the olympic values. In the PBS row we had to do the PBS motto, PBS whakatuki, PBS logo and the PBS values.
