Kiwi Can

L.I to learn about resilience and problem solving.
This week for Kiwi Can we had to start by getting into a circle. We talked about what we did last week, we talked about resilience and how to use it. After that we had our energizer it is called hoop de hoop in this game two people run in the hoops then when they com up to each other they do rock paper scissor shoot. After our energizer we talked about helping each other when they are stuck on something. So if your stuck on something just ask for help so you are not sitting down and not doing anything.

After our talk we played our activity It is called Mat doge ball Mr Matt made up this game because it has his own name in it. When you play Matt dodge ball everyone has to get numbered from one to 5 I was number 1. There is one person who calls out the numbers, if your number one and got called out the  you would have to go into the middle and people would have to roll the ball to try and hit you with the ball. After our activity we did our GHQ I got my question write Then we had our points we got 25 points.

swimming

LI: Is to blog post about what we learned in the swimming session.
This week for swimming we had our lesson with Cameron and James we had to learn what to do if someone is drowning you have to grab an long object. You had to try get up them then through your object to the person your saving then you lay onto your back then you pull the person your saving then you keep pulling you had to pull them out. The first step was that we had to sit down onto the wall.Next you get a partner. Then we grabbed a noodle for our first skill. One person has to go into the water and the person that sitting down has to be on there stomach and put the noodle into the water. we had to put our arm straight and high and say help three times.

The next skill that we had to float but not on our backs or stomach we had to float by doing scaly. three people went into the water trying to float by doing scaly. We also learned not to get close to them or else they will hurt you. To be above the water you need to get into the sitting position, put your legs wide and then spin them, then scull with one hand and the other hand is waving. We were going to do a 100 m swim non stop but we didn't enough time but we might be doing it in a week or two.

Kiwi Can

L.I to solve problems and resilience.
LI: to learn how to solve problems.
Today for kiwi can we learnt how to solve our problems by team work. We learned how to solve problems by playing two games, the first game was human knot. When you play this game you need to have team work, in this game there are four teams. There should be an equal amount of people in the teams. Each team is formed in a circle, everyone has to use there right hand to grab someone else's hand, but you can't hold the hands of a person next to you, after that you then do the same with your left hand. Once everyone's hands are jumbled you then have to work together to untangle the circle. The first team that untangles there knot first wins. My team came last but we tried really hard.
The second game that we played was Matt dodge ball. Mr Matt made up this game because it has his own name in it. When you play Matt dodge ball everyone has to get numbered from one to 5 I was number 1. There is one person who calls out the numbers, if your number one and got called out the  you would have to go into the middle and people would have to roll the ball to try and hit you with the ball. After our activity we did our GHQ.  we did our point system we only got 17 points that is not a lot, it is because we were not respectful. So next time we will try to have more respect.

Angles

LI: identify and construct right, acute and obtuse angles and to begin to appreciate the degree.
This week for Maths we learned how to use a protractor. We had a sheet. There were angles on the sheets, we had to measure the angles and write down what the angle was. I got every single one of them correct. The thing that we had to measure the angle was the protractor. Right angle: exactly 90 degrees, Straight angle: exactly, 180 degrees, Acute angle: 0 - 90 degrees, Obtuse angle: 90 - 180 degrees, Reflex angle: 180 - 360 degrees.

Sky tower trip

LI learn about the sky tower.
This week we went on a trip to the sky tower to see how it was built. The sky tower was built in 1997 it was made of concrete, steel, metal and some glass. The staff working there took us in the elevator to the top floor which was floor 51 we got given a paper and a pencil which we had to write in the boxes with arrows pointing at building and we had to go find that building and write the name of it. After that we walked down the stairs to floor 45 that floor was the refuge level this level was were the staff would take the people to safety when there is a fire on the sky deck which was floor 51. There were no windows because there were steel surrounding it so the fire men could cut through the steel or come running up the stairs. There is 3 refuge levels 44, 45 and 46. The foundation of the sky tower was 15. The sky tower is as tall as 6,000 elephants which is the same as 324 m. One of the places on the paper was the Auckland harbor bridge.
