LI: To learn how to play badminton.
today I learnt how to play badminton. My class went to the hall i was so excited because it was my first time playing badminton, our coach was Kevin we learnt a back hand a fore hand and some trick shots. The first one  was to hit the shuttlecock behind your back and the second one was to hit the shuttlecock in between our legs

Maori

This week for our Maori lesson, I learned the locations in new Zealand. We had a challenge it was that we had to find the English words and put them in the right position, there were 22 places and we had to find where the words go. I learnt by going on google maps.

Resilience

LI:To use a range of comprehension strategies to go deeper into the text
This week I have been focusing on resilience. We red a book about Jordan Kahu and how hard it is to complete a challenge. I have been reading about Jordan Kahu's life and how he became a good rugby player.

Badminton

First badminton session

Today we had our first badminton session with Kevin first we had our warm up game it was called stuck in the mud, but it was a different version of stuck in the mud, if you get tagged you someone has to clap between there legs and tap their hand to set them free.

We learnt two skills they were called the back hand grip and the front hand grip. The first skill we learnt was the front hand grip, what you have to do is hold the racket in the hand you don’t write with then you put your dominate hand/the hand you write with then you have to let go of the racket with the hand you don’t write with, then you have to turn the racket anti clockwise. The back hand grip you have to hold the racket in you dominate hand/hand you write with then turn the racket clockwise.

I got better at hitting the shuttle multiple times my high score was 21 my lowest score 10. We learnt some trick shots, the first trick was to hit the shuttle then hit the shuttle with the racket behind your back. It was quite hard but once I kept practising i got better at it, my friends kept falling down when they tried to hit the shuttle with the racket behind their back. The second trick was to hit the shuttle and then put the racket in between their legs and hit the shuttle, this time I fall down.

Before we had to leave Kevin told us that we were doing a competition, the competition was to keep the ball in the air for as long as possible, the winners were Matthew, Jayden, Lukah. They were the three finalists and Matthew won, Lukah was the first one to make the shuttle drop on the ground.

LI: to revise a piece of writing and to edit and check a piece of writing.
This week for writing we had to write a recount in 40 minutes about our first badminton session with Kevin our coach. He was teaching us about badminton. We learned about some skills and trick shots from Kevin it was very fun and exciting.

The production

The 2017 Production
I was nervous when it was our turn to dance i was so nervous dancing in front of my Mum, Dad and the other people that were watching but in a way I was excited. When we finished our dance we had to go home my mum and dad were so proud of me. Last term on wednesday night at P.B.S at 6:30, we had a production to celebrate panmure bridge school’s 60th birthday. There was 8 yrs, 1yrs to 8yrs before the production we had to practise our dance so we done the right moves at the right time. Kids family members came to supported their kids and watch their kids dance. In our class we have 6 groups, they are gang man style, single ladies, party rock, nae nae, dougie and harlem shake. I was in party rock we had to wear glasses without lenses, an afro wig, a light t shirt and pants. The people in my group were Aung Naing, Pua, Tremaine, Xavier, Joseph, Mojtaba, Giovanni and me.

We had our production in the hall kids families were sitting on the chairs in the back. The first class that danced was room 4 they had a good dance and some kids in room 4, kapa haka was after room 4 kapa haka sang 2 songs, the boys done the haka, after they finished the haka the the girls got of the stage on the right side and the boys walked off the stage on the left. There were heaps of other dances.

L.I to be good at writing.
I learned to make a recount about what happened last term about our production. we had to get a piece of paper and mark the people in our group.

Local community

L.I to talk about the people who are in your life. This week for inquiry we had a new topic, that topic is our local community. For our must do we had to make a diagram on a google slide it had to have three or four circles with the people in you life and your community. for example in the middle circle is the people you see every day, the middle circle is the people you see regularly like if you don't see you grandparents every day you put them in the middle circle and the last circle is the people you don't see every day but they exist.

In guess who we get a paper from Mrs Lilly and write 3 thing we like about our self that no one knows about you, So Mrs Lily and mr Malu called out one paper and we have to guess who's paper it belonged to, we could try and trick them so the other people thought it was some one else.
